Card Class - August 2013

 Card Class - August 2013

Well this week I held my first class and had 4 lovely ladies who have booked to come to next class too, it was tiring but brilliant and we got it all done, had a few mistakes made along the way but all corrected and sorted and my lovely ladies were all happy at their end results 3 lovely makes each.

We all had a super morning chatting and crafting its always nice to meet new crafty friends... here are the projects that we made.

Thank you to Jean, Esther, Linda & Julie my lovely class members for making the morning so great.

Card 1  - Get Well Soon

This lovely summery card is based on an idea that we made at our demo day in Peterborough it uses the lovely in-colour 2013-2015 colour collection which is one of my favourite colourways at the moment.  Basic card fold and layering technique using one of the brilliant framelet edge dies for the bottom trim and the gorgeous new ribbon out in the new catalogue.. a simple greeting finishes off this quick summery card.

MATERIALS USED

STAMP SETS - Mixed Bunch

INK – Crisp Cantaloupe - Coastal Cabana - Baked Brown Sugar
CARD STOCK – Whisper White - Crisp Cantaloupe - Baked Brown Sugar
RIBBON - Crisp Cantaloupe Ruffle Stretch Trim
PUNCH - Mixed Bunch

EDGELETS - Adorning Accents
JEWELS - Basic Gems

Card 2  -  Timeless Talk folding card

This is an usual shaped card with the front and back been separated by the inner z folded inside.  It makes such a difference when opened up and is very easy to make.  Simply make the front and back the same size as a normal card blank and just cut the folding edge away to form the 2 sides. The inner is simply a piece of whisper white 11" x 3.25" scored at 4.5" and 9" then fold into a z shape and stick inside and put in your greeting.  The stamp is from the fabulous Hostess stamp set Timeless Talk and the greeting from another lovely new stamp set Perfectly Penned.  We used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the images in the bubble it is a fab little gadget I could not be without.  The ink and card is the ever popular Pacific Point and the image is matted onto Daffodil Delight card stock.

A very smart card for those special men in your life

Project 3 - CARD BOX HOLDER

Our last project was this super Box to hold cards and envelopes it makes a super birthday gift for a friend..

Here are written instructions with all of the measurements:

 1. Trim 1" from one side of a 12 x 12" sheet of card stock, leaving you with an 11" x 12" piece.

2. With the 11" side across the top of the Simply Scored, score at 4 1/2" and 6 1/2"

3. Turn paper so the 12" side is across the top and score at 6", and

10 1/2". Cut as shown in the video and in the picture

4. On the two cut pieces fold to just less than half so edge is under the scored top line and burnish with bone folder

5. Fold up the folded side flaps trapping the front side flaps inside to hold in place then fold the large sides in and mark where to cut off the top edge of triangle to form the slanted sides.

Decorate as desired. I used the Polka Dot Parade DSP from the new catalogue and added a 1 ¼ scallop punched shape with mixed bunch flower stamped inside and made into 3d embellished flower to add onto the front with one of the new glittery brads.  The banner stamp was cut and added to inside and at the top on the back to finish off.
